Andrew Freedman Home
Seniors visited The Living Room Kitchen exhibition at the Andrew Freeman Home in the Bronx curated by Kiara Cristina Artist and PSP Administrator Estelle Maisonett joined the scholars in the trip and was one of the many Black and Latinx artists in the show. The work in the exhibition brought many of the scholars’ feelings of home, whether that be home in New York or abroad. With a conversation amongst the group, they felt as if all the work was relatable. That feeling was intensified by the idea that the living room is a place for happiness, sadness, trauma, a space full of emotion for the family and friends and that the kitchen also becomes a place of gathering too, as much so as the living room and each artist interpreted that in their work.
