Mixed Media Artist, Pan American International High School, Bronx, NY
Lesly Morales was born in Guerrero, Mexico in 2001 and moved to the Bronx, New York at age 15. She currently attends the Pan American International High School at Monroe and is interested in pursuing a career in architecture and psychology. Influenced by her experience of moving around different areas of Mexico, she grew a deep emotional connection and appreciation for the various styles of architecture she saw. This had a profound influence on her and inspired her to explore architecture. Her interest in psychology stems from her ability and enjoyment of listening to others and finding ways to support them. Lesly is a collaborative student and team player, helping her teachers and classmates whenever they need assistance. She also has experience playing team sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. When she’s not making art she also enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies.
At the Parson Scholars Program, she has experimented with a variety of art practices such as graphic design, illustration, fine art, architecture, and printmaking. She enjoys working with charcoal, painting, and architectural materials for models. Most of her artwork takes a critical view of society as well as herself. Her future goals are to graduate with honors from high school and enter college. While at college she intends to spend some time traveling abroad and gaining a deeper perspective on how people think and live.
