The multimedia piece illustrates my father and me as a toddler. I used Western Americana Cowboy culture to illustrate the similar nature that Cowboys and my father share. By adding black figures within a culture that doesn’t document them enough as well as the rope that acts as a halo; I allude to black empowerment and religion that my father instilled within me.

Despite not being around mentally and emotionally, I never denied that my father had a different way of expressing love. This is subtlety expressed in color and composition especially within similarities between colors that highlight connections to subjects.
