For my piece, I chose to focus on my immediate family, the people that make up who I am. For me the definition of family is home and comfortability. But I often don’t feel comfortable around the people that are my blood family. I'm connected - tethered- to the people in my household just because we share the same blood but from what I gather we live in separate worlds. And that's not a bad thing but it’s lacking the family vibe and feeling I believe families should have. In my piece, materials played a major role in establishing my family’s personality and my understanding of them.
